What do you see?
This is a picture of an area of sidewalk near where I live. I have walked past this for weeks and finally decided to capture it. What do you see?
I am reminded of Don Quixote's faithful nag Rocinante, wandering riderless near a tree, likely recovering from the overexertion required of his master's latest escapade of knight-errantry.

It looks like a duck with a noose around his neck.
Looks sorta like the kind of bird Dr. Seuss would have drawn. All fancy, with a cane and everything. Looks like there is some sort of bump on its head like it was hit with a frying pan. On top of that is a tiny top hat. Also, it appears that this bird is walking atop a beam making up part of the skeleton of a great high-rise building. Perhaps he is late for work because his feet aren’t touching down. I can’t tell if he’s looking at his watch because that wing is within the silhouette. He is clearly not afraid of heights.
Either that or it’s a drop of roofing tar. Have any roof work done lately?
Classic, Mr. Xymyl. Just classic.
