According to an article on Next Generation, Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata revealed to Japanese newspaper Sankei Shinbun that Nintendo must release the Revolution console by Thanksgiving 2006 in the U.S. to have the support of retailers for the holiday season.
Finally a bit of good news and some additional pressure on Sony to provide details on the PS3 release. You know Sony doesn't want to be the last hardware launch of this generation.
