Sad beer and whisky news

As you may or may not have heard, Michael Jackson, famed beer and scotch whisky reviewer, died today. I have his books Ultimate Beer and Complete Guide to Single Malt Scotch.

Great reference works from a knowledgeable man. He will be missed.

I was very busy all day yesterday and hadn't heard the sad news. I have a shelf full of Michael Jackson books on both beer and Whisky. Between him and Jim Murray you would get a perfect balance on the subject of all things whisk(e)y.

Huge gaps will be left in countless magazines, and how will we know how "rare" the rare beer club beers really are? That's a joke, we will know... but how will we know which ones he would have picked? He would throw a curve ball sometimes... or topple a wicket, something unexpected anyway.

Too bad the other Michael Jackson messed up his nose so bad, he has no chance of detecting nuances at this point. Wasn't he living in Scotland? Maybe the two of them met and... no maybe it was Ireland.
