Well, this is your best post ever. Bittersweet for me because I didn't get any 777. I still have some 333, 444, 555, and 666 chillin' in the cold room though.
Other thoughts...
I have got to get out to the new brewery. I have been to the old one twice but still haven't seen the new one.
I am happy for you. And sad for me, although I bet I have more beer in my cellar than you do. So my life isn't a total waste.
They haven't posted the recipe yet. What's going on?
I am getting ready to turn my pumphouse into a brewery, perhaps I will just make all the VE's using the recipes given on the site.
Xymyl: I had no idea you were into this brewery's vertical tasting series. I may be able to grab a few 777s for you if you want.
You do indeed have more beer in your cellar than I do, particularly given that I don't have a cellar.
Sometime I will visit you and be your beer apprentice. Only if you are accepting such applications, of course. Maybe a future joint inspection tour of the new Stone brewery is in order also.
I've been a follower of all things Stone since spring of 99 when I tried my first Arrogant Bastard at the top of the Stratosphere in Vegas.
I've got Double Bastards, Vertical Epics, Imperial Russian Stouts, And Old Guardians going back to 03 still. But I'm missing out on the 07's.
I did pick a couple OG's but I'll need to make sure I get a couple cases of Double Bastard again this year.
I love the way Double B ages, I could have kept some older years but it gets hugely malt forward too, so it's nice to have a bit of hop bite still in it.
I should be writing notes like this in e-mail. Oh well...
Finally got some 777 Vertical Epic. Will be great in about 3 to 5 years. It is quite similar to the 444 but without the lime leaves. 444 was far superior though. I'm wondering if the siilarity is why they haven't yet posted the homebrew recipe.
For a few weeks now the site has said, "The Brewing Team is hard at work converting the Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic Ale into a homebrew recipe and will have it ready for you by next week!"
I know that it doesn't take that long to convert a recipe.
It's great, but all I can think is where are the lime leaves???!!??

Xymyl: glad you were able to find some 777. I have a couple of extras myself, but we'll see how long I can hold out.
